Woman on Sidewalk When Hit by Car Dies

Mrs. Jennie Cavatario, 1631A Knapp street, died yesterday at City Hospital of injuries suffered earlier when she was struck by one of two automobiles that collided at Twentieth street and Washington avenue.

Mrs. Cavatario, 75 years old, was standing on the southwest corner when an automobile being driven west on Washington by David G. Harrison, 18, of 1111 Madison avenue, Madison, skidded as he applied his brakes to stop for the changing traffice light. The car struck a southbound automobile driven by Mrs. Margaret Novak, 1633A Helen street.

One of the cars then struck Mrs. Cavatario and another pedestrian, Mrs. Marie Demoss, 60, of 1908 Carr street. Mrs. Cavatario suffered head injuries and fractures of both legs. Mrs. Demos was treated for abrasions. Mrs. Novak suffered contusions of the head.
